tetanus

today started well, but quickly ended in disaster.
to give you a quick recap, my family and I are staying in the south of kauai.  we like to go on dangerous adventures.  we toss caution to the wind for the sake of a good time.

this is a breadfruit tree.  I was not wearing appropriate shoes for climbing trees and other such nonsense.

these are jackfruit.

and this, my friends, is an abandoned mansion!

I stepped on a nail as long as my index finger, and it went up into my foot.  my shoe quickly filled with blood, and I had to go to the emergency room.  the second to last picture was taken right after stepping on said nail, which is why I look like I want to murder you.

  7. OMG. I hope you're okay.

Kauai is the favorite out of all of the islands. I like that it's less developed than the rest of them. And plus I think the roosters running around everywhere is pretty entertaining.

Hope you have a fun and safer rest of the trip!

  12. Oh you poor thing! Look at what a sport you are - allowing photographs in the hospital! And blogging is what got you into this mess in the first place! Your passion is inspiring! For what it's worth, the abandoned mansion shots are super-cool! Take care of yourself and have a fabulous time with your family!

  17. throwing caution to the wind is the best way to live life - stepping on nails however is not! You poor thing. I did the same when I was about 7 and I still remember it to this day. ouch! What crazy adventures you get to have though ... am loving your pics so far!
